It was so wonderful to be so unreachable. It allowed for mornings and evenings to be left sacred. Instead of watching Netflix at night we've been reading baby books. Our due date is fast approaching with me at 35 weeks. I realized this week I have one onesie, a bassinet, and a little hat. Not a single diaper, or carseat, or wrap. So this weekend is devoted to the accumulation of the necessary so that when baby comes, he can be warm and safe and clean.
I'll put more photos of the new farm up soon. For now....
1. View at dawn from the porch.
2. Nick and Winnie walking in for morning milking.
3. Our pond where I've spent most of my late pregnancy days.
4. Fiddlehead in the crabapple outside the house, taunting a puppy who can't climb.
5. A warning of frost last night for our chilled little town. I wrapped each tomato in a bedsheet as I could think of nothing else at 9:30pm when I checked the weather report.
Good to see a post from you and that you are settling in. I loved all the photos. Enjoy gathering your needed baby supplies, baby will soon arrive and life will never ever be the same again! Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteGetting excited down here as we count the days!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you back on line.....beautiful pics this morning.
You are both artists, baby mama
Your new home is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteso good to see you back and getting a glimpse into your beautiful, new place! What baby books are you reading? I am expecting my first as well and I am curious :)
ReplyDeletemaybe get a hold a baby wearing group in your area. "the baby wearer" forum is awesome to get a hold of beautiful wraps and other things like ergos and ring slings, if you didn't already know that. i had a ring sling made from a didymos wrap (aqua waves) and it was awesome for my newborn once i figured out how to sit her upright and get it tightened. i also had an ellaroo and a storch wrap.
ReplyDeleteyou can get cloth diapers thru them too, although i ordered bumgenius from cotton babies (you can register on there and people can get you baby gifts you want ;). i bought 18 one size fits all and called it good til potty trained. cloth diapers were my favorite thing about a baby. people say they are work but i found it to be fun and felt pure. i have friend who like fuzzy bunz and then there are prefolds and covers too, i just did the other, trying to keep it simple.
Just my 2 cents :)
So beautiful!

ReplyDeleteWhen I see this, it just brings me so much peace and happiness. you influenced my choices for the future, and Tom and I have booked our tickets for France. We are moving on the land in a month time. I've been gathering books and information about vegetables and chicken. I've never felt so happy.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous property! My (now husband) and I lived together for years before we got married. When househunting or other times we'd refer to each other as husband/wife to those who might judge us so I know what you mean about the phone thing!
