i am always so pleasantly shocked how each and every one of our friends don't bother to blink twice at using the outhouse. it isn't very pleasant to have to use. especially when its pouring rain (or pouring snow) or blowing wind. or hot and still. but our friends are good sports, they persevere and so do we.
that is all.
have a good friday. and an even better weekend ours will be filled with milkings, garden-work, a picnic on the mountain top, many jumps in the pond, and good carolina friends.
Speaking as one of those visiting friends, I can say from first hand experinece that it is one of my all time favorite outhouses. I love it.
ReplyDeleteAdded to it's charm it has those three other qualities of a great building going for it; location, location, location.
it's a very homely outhouse!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a very pleasant place to be!

After living 13 years with just an outhouse, I find it kind of gross when bathrooms in houses are close to kitchen. Even with our brutal winters here in Alaska, I still don't mind my outhouse. Ours even has blue foam!
ReplyDeleteWhen I go home to my parent's farm I ONLY use the outhouse (we have indoor bathrooms as well). I LOVE the outhouse so much that I even get on a major kick to get everyone else in the family to use the outhouse, even in the dead of winter!
ReplyDeleteGood post.
@amy i couldn't agree more. the idea of a bathroom next to the kitchen seems so uncivilized :)
ReplyDeleteWait, is THAT the outhouse!? If so, it's way nicer than the bathroom in my house (which is not near the kitchen, ha! that was a big deal when indoor plumbing first happened, lots of people thought it was disgusting to have a toilet inside!). If we had an outhouse, we could take our old dog out at the same time, very convenient since she has to be taken out at least every 6 hours.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad lookin' outhouse if I do say so myself. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think, from what I see here, that I could handle your outhouse. It's not dark and scary inside whatsoever!
ReplyDeleteYour is the sweetest looking little outhouse I've ever seen. I'd use it with pleasure.
ReplyDeleteThat's the purdiest outhouse I ever did see! :)

Ahh, this looks wonderful. My dream house in the future would definitely have an outhouse :)
ReplyDeleteWe live in a small Chinese flat with a bathroom beside the kitchen :( It's hot, the drains smell.
Adding this to my daydreams :))
